Silent Expressions of Larry G Lyles

About the Artist

Emerging artist Larry G. Lyles was born in North Carolina, but has spent most of his adult life in the Washington D.C. area. Larry works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media with a bold and unique style. Larry has been influenced and advised by many artists. He interprets people, personalities, culture, politics, spiritualism, and the beauty of nature with a style that is all his own.

Larry G. Lyles captures life around him with vibrant, provocative expression. He paints with a free spirit. For Larry, everything is a subject. In his own words "I paint to inspire individuals to develop their own concept of not just my work, but all artistic works and images." Larry G. Lyles is best known as a dentist who served the Petworth/Shepard Park communities in Washington, D.C. for over 30 years. After suffering a stroke in 2010 that left him unable to speak, his art has become his language of Silent Expression.

Larry has been exhibited at Strathmore Hall, Rockville, MD; Corner Store Arts, Washington, D.C.; Harmony Hall, Ft. Washington, MD; and for private venues by invitation. Larry's work has been commissioned, and has also been sold to individual collectors.
